Hi, I’m Ashley! This is year four of leading Team Mindful Migraine. A reminder that even with a mind full of migraine, we can bring mindfulness and intention to each day.
This year marks 11 years of living with chronic migraine. Through hospital stays, medication trials, and days spent in dark rooms, I’ve learned that migraine affects far more than your head. It changes how you connect, work, and show up in everyday life. Migraine is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide, yet its impact is still too often misunderstood. It’s an invisible illness that can make you feel invisible, too.
This year has been about the work that often goes unseen: practicing mindfulness, building strength in physical therapy, starting counseling for medical PTSD and processing chronic pain, and transitioning to remote work to better support my health. I’m learning to respect my limits, give myself grace, and make space for joy alongside the pain.
I’m deeply grateful for my UHealth Neurology, Physical Therapy, and Pain Teams, my family and friends, and the Miles for Migraine community for their continued care and support.
💜 Join Team Mindful Migraine or support my fundraiser! Walk with us to spread awareness, support those living with migraine, and help make an invisible illness visible and end the stigma. Migraine is MORE than a headache. Let’s walk and start the conversation.
